Knowledge in Action
FDU has several centers focused on mental health, empathy awareness and training, and psychological counseling. The centers provide a platform for you to take what you learn in the classroom and put it into practice. Educate organizations, advance the humanics approach to healthcare, and, as a psychology student, provide community-based mental health services, all while you earn your degree.
Challenge your own implicit biases as you develop tools and resources to support hospitals and medical centers, government departments, education systems, and other organizations to eliminate mental health stigma.
Foster a culture and language of empathy in your community as well as the world while you help individuals and groups learn to prevent, mitigate, and resolve aggressive behavior to lead societal change.
Refine your clinical assessment and treatment abilities as you work with licensed and doctoral-level psychologists to provide mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults in the surrounding communities.
Our competitive tuition rates and flexible program options make earning a graduate degree more accessible. Students can also take advantage of numerous FDU Health and external scholarships, as well as graduate assistantships. Many paid practicum and internship opportunities exist, which allow you to gain vital experience while financing your education.
Graduates of FDU Health consistently pass licensure exams at rates higher than the national benchmark, obtain leadership positions, increase their salaries, and achieve high rates of social mobility.
"I would say that one of the best parts about coming to FDU is all of the affiliations with different companies throughout different fields of study. At FDU, I had numerous experiences throughout the healthcare field, in different hospitals and pharmacies, where I was able to get face time with the patients."
-Dr. Melissa LeBron, FDU Health, Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
